Finding a new home was a load off forklift truck driver Dave Gummer’s mind.

For the new property in Devonport will spare Dave a 140-mile round trip commuting to his job for home builder Redrow.

Now Dave, 56, will help build his new home for his employers at their multi-million pound Vision scheme in the town, where he has bought a one-bedroom apartment.

Award-winning house-builder Redrow Homes has put the swing back into Devonport’s step with a generous donation towards the forthcoming Friends of Devonport Park summer event on September 15.

Fears that the celebration may have to be cancelled were quashed when Redrow – who are developing the former South Yard in Devonport - made their £2,000 donation towards the day, becoming the event’s main sponsors.

THE PARTY spirit was alive and well in Plymouth as Redrow’s Vision at Devonport development threw open its doors to welcome visitors to its sales launch – and what a day it was!   Visitors were greeted by an array of fantastic entertainers – from ‘Cosmo the clown’ to face painters, caricaturists, a live jazz band and balloon modellers – it was a fun day for all the family.
