Redrow presents Vision

PLYMOUTH City councillors have unanimously approved plans for the first zone of construction at Vision, Redrow's new mixed-use neighbourhood on the site of the former South Yard Enclave, in Devonport.

Redrow presents Vision at Devonport

Welcoming the decision, chair of Plymouth City Council planning committee and Devonport councillor, Nicky Wildy said: "As a local ward councillor, I am delighted to see so much progress being made to transform this historic community. We have already witnessed the symbolic pulling down of a section of the wall that has been in place since the 1950s, and can now look forward to a new era of growth and prosperity. Devonport's time has come."

The first of 14 zones that will make up the exciting 18-acre regeneration project, zone B, will comprise 65 new homes and 535 sq. metres of mixed-use development suitable for retail, employment and community use.

It lies on the northern edge of the site, facing Granby Way and Granby Green. The 65 properties will comprise 37 three and four-bedroom terraced homes, and 28 one and two-bedroom apartments; among them are 10 affordable
homes designated for rent or shared ownership.

Redrow project manager Chris Anderson said: "Building work can now start on the first phase of our flagship scheme, which will eventually feature more than 450 new homes, shops, offices and community facilities."

Redrow was chosen as preferred developer for the site by national regeneration agency, English Partnerships, whose senior regeneration manager Steve Jackson comments: "This is an important next step in the creation of a high-quality, sustainable neighbourhood in Devonport. We are
working closely with Redrow to translate the local vision into reality, and the continued support of the community has played an invaluable part in the regeneration process.
